Little improvement for "Add an observation"
Hi,
First, i'm sorry for my English and i hope i will be understood...
Then, here my suggestions :
* i have problem when i select location : could we put directly the coordonates (Lat/Long) ?
* some animals are not recognized by tour database : could we select the type of species (bird, insect, ...) ?
* for foreign users (French, German, ...) : is it possible to enter several common names (eg. French name, German name, ...) ?
Finally, thank you for this website and i send you all my encouragements to continue your project.
Fabien
The new site design should improve on some/all of Fabien's points above, as you can now:
- use a Google map interface to point/click to set lat/long of sighting, as well as enter those coordinates directly.
- select general species category which helps the site organize your sighting when other users browse (eg bird, reptile, insect, tree, etc)
- non-English names may be entered for sighting title and "common name" although the server and database do not always contain these variations and so it may not reference it as well for other site functionality.
Thanks again for using Species Explorer, look forward to seeing your sightings!
Max
Glad to hear that the suggestions are being considered. The addition of that features would be very handy for us users.

Fabien,
Thank you for those comments. All of them I think would be helpful, and I will add them to the list of improvements for the site. It may take a bit of time to get these features live, so bear with us. Please send along any additional comments as well. I hope you continue to use the site, it is very exciting to see users from around the world posting observations!
best,

ps your English looked good to me! I'll need to start learning more languages myself as more international users use the site!

Thank you for such interesting comments, I really enjoyed reading them
