It is found in Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Somalia, Sudan, and Uganda. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, dry savanna, and heavily degraded former forest.
