Lamottemys okuensis

The Mount Oku rat is a species of rodent in the family Muridae. It is the only species in the genus Lamottemys. It is found only in Cameroon where its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. It is threatened by habitat destruction.
Fun Fact
This rat is endemic to Cameroon in West Africa where it is only known from the forested slopes of Mount Oku at altitudes of between 2,100 and 3,000 m (6,890 and 9,840 ft) in areas with thorn-bushes, dense undergrowth and rough vegetation.
