About

The margay is a small wild cat native to Mexico, Central and South America. A solitary and nocturnal felid, it lives mainly in primary evergreen and deciduous forest.

Fun Fact

Margays are the only cat species that can rotate their hind ankles 180 degrees, allowing them to climb down trees headfirst — a skill no other cat can match — and they've been observed mimicking the calls of baby monkeys to lure adult prey.
