About

The mountain hare or arctic hare, also known as blue hare, tundra hare, variable hare, white hare, snow hare, alpine hare, and Irish hare, is a species of Palearctic hare that is largely adapted to polar and mountainous habitats.

Fun Fact

Mountain hares in Ireland never turn white in winter because the island rarely gets lasting snow — they've lost the seasonal colour change that their Scottish and Scandinavian relatives still display.
