The Sunda pangolin, also known as the Malayan or Javan pangolin, is a species of pangolin. It is a member of the Manidae family. Its English name comes from the Malay name pëngulin, which means "roller".

Sunda pangolins are the world's most trafficked mammals — more than one million have been poached in the last decade — and when threatened they curl into an armour-plated ball that even tigers struggle to unroll.
