The eastern meadow vole, sometimes called the field mouse or meadow mouse, is a North American vole found in eastern Canada and the United States. Its range extends farther south along the Atlantic coast.

Fun Fact

Meadow voles have one of the highest reproductive rates of any mammal — a single female can produce up to 17 litters per year, with 4-8 pups each, meaning one pair could theoretically produce a million descendants in a year.
