About

The numbat, also known as the noombat or walpurti, is an insectivorous marsupial. It is diurnal and its diet consists almost exclusively of termites.

Fun Fact

Numbats are the only fully diurnal marsupial, active by day to match the activity of their sole food source — termites — of which they eat up to 20,000 per day using a long, sticky tongue.
