The African palm civet, also known as the two-spotted palm civet, is a small feliform mammal widely distributed in sub-Saharan Africa. It is listed as least concern on the IUCN Red List. It is the sole member of the superfamily Nandinioidea and the most genetically isolated carnivoran.

Fun Fact

African palm civets are among the most primitive of all living carnivores — fossil relatives date back 50 million years, and their teeth have barely changed since the Eocene.
