About

The inland taipan, also known as the fierce snake, is a species of extremely venomous snake native to semi-arid regions of central east Australia. It has the most toxic venom of any land snake; a single bite contains enough venom to kill over 100 adult humans. Despite its fearsome reputation, it is a reclusive snake that rarely encounters humans. It feeds almost exclusively on small mammals, particularly the long-haired rat.

Fun Fact

The inland taipan has the most toxic venom of any land snake — a single bite contains enough toxin to kill 100 adult humans — yet no human deaths have been recorded because it lives in remote Australian outback and is extremely shy.
