Peromyscus hooperi

Hooper's mouse is a species of rodent in the family Cricetidae. It is a species of the genus Peromyscus, a closely related group of New World mice often called "deermice". It is the only member of the Peromyscus hooperi species group, and is found only in Mexico. The species is named for Emmett Hooper, a researcher into the taxonomy of the genus Peromyscus.

Habitat
Lives in high altitude grasslands, between about 1,000 and 2,000 metres (3,300 and 6,600 ft) above sea level, above the scrublands of the Chihuahuan Desert, but below the montane chaparral habitats of the higher mountains.
