The European mole is a mammal of the order Eulipotyphla. It is also known as the common mole and the northern mole.

Fun Fact

European moles can excavate 20 metres of tunnel per day and store live earthworms as 'living larders' — they bite off the worm's head segments to immobilise it but keep it alive for weeks.
