The eastern chipmunk is a chipmunk species found in eastern North America. It is the only living member of the genus Tamias.

Fun Fact

Eastern chipmunks can carry up to 32 beechnuts in their expandable cheek pouches at once, and they store up to 8 litres of food in their underground burrows for winter.
