The green-tailed emerald is a species of hummingbird in the "emeralds", tribe Trochilini of subfamily Trochilinae. It is endemic to Venezuela.

The green-tailed emerald was originally described as Trochilus alice and later moved to its present genus Chlorostilbon.
Habitat
Endemic to northern Venezuela, from Falcón south to Lara and Sucre and east to Monagas.
Diet
Feed on nectar.
