The garden emerald is a small hummingbird in the "emeralds", tribe Trochilini of subfamily Trochilinae. It is found in Costa Rica and Panama.
Fun Fact
The garden emerald was at one time considered a subspecies of the blue-tailed emerald (Chlorostilbon mellisugus).
Habitat
Found in southwestern Costa Rica, the Pacific coast of Panama, and the offshore Coiba and Pearl islands.
Diet
Feeds on small insects that it gleans from vegetation.
