The black-headed antbird is a species of passerine bird in subfamily Thamnophilinae of family Thamnophilidae, the "typical antbirds". It is found in Brazil, Colombia, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela.
Fun Fact
He placed it with the thrushes in the genus Turdus and coined the binomial name Turdus rufifrons.
Habitat
Found in Brazil north of the Amazon from the lower Negro River to the Trombetas.
Diet
Feeds on a wide variety of insects and other arthropods and occasionally also on small reptiles and fruit.
