The huayco tinamou, also known as waypu (Quechua), is a species of bird found on grassy mountain ridges in the Andes of Bolivia and Argentina.

Habitat
Occurs in dry savanna and scrubland, and cereal fields.

Eats fruit off the ground or low-lying bushes.
