Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers drill neat rows of holes in tree bark that ooze sap, which feeds not only the sapsucker but also hummingbirds, bats, and dozens of insect species.
Habitat
Found in deciduous and mixed coniferous forests up to 2,000 metres (6,600 ft) altitude.
